Monday Night Football logoThe two best offenses in the NFL should put on a show on Monday night as the unbeaten New Orleans Saints host the New England Patriots (8:35 p.m. ET, ESPN).

New Orleans is a 1.5 point favorite and the total for the game is set at 56.5 at SBG Global.

The Saints are on the same pace that the Patriots were on two years ago when they went unbeaten during the regular season. Quarterback Drew Brees leads a wide open offense that is tough to stop. The Saints lead the league in total yards at 420.5 per game and in points per game at 36.9.

The Patriots are no slouches on the offensive side of the ball either: New England is second in yards per game (416.1).

New Orleans figures to get tested on Monday by a New England offense that set the standard in excellence. With quarterback Tom Brady and receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker, the Patriots set the NFL record for most points scored in a season two years ago.

It will be up to the Saints defense to contain Brady and his receivers. The Saints rank No. 1 in the league in takeaways and interceptions so they have a chance to slow down Brady. Safety Darren Sharper leads the league in interception return yards.

On the flipside, it seems unlikely that New England can stop Brees and the New Orleans offense. The Saints have a number of weapons on offense and actually have a higher ranking rushing the ball than throwing it. The Saints are No. 5 in the league in rushing and No. 6 in passing. The Patriots are only No. 14 in the NFL against the run but they are No. 6 against the pass.

New England has won eight of 11 all-time games against New Orleans with the last victory coming by a score of 24-17 in 2005.

Here are some more NFL betting stats for Monday’s game:
